Dr. Toh Tin Lam has been with St. Andrew’s Junior College from 1995 to 2001 and he was the Head of Department from 2000 to 2001, before joining the NIE as an assistant professor in the Mathematics Department in 2001. He was a member of the JC MTC Website Committee and a deputy leader of Singapore IMO Team.

The objective of our workshop series is to equip teachers with the necessary skills to guide students effectively in Mathematics.

Higher Order Thinking Skills and Mathematical Olympiad

This workshop prepares teachers who might be tasked to coach their pupils in mathematics competitions. The workshop discusses the problem solving heuristics in handling higher order thinking skills.

Selected topics include the following. Teachers can select any topic(s) which are modular in nature.

• Logic (3 hours)
• Arithmetic and Number Theory (4 hours)
